Meet Our New Pastor

Bill Prather

Reverend Dr. Bill Prather

First Baptist Church of Omaha is pleased to announce our new Pastor!  Dr. Bill Prather has agreed to join us in doing God’s ministry in Mid-Town Omaha and beyond!  He officially began this new chapter of his ministry on October 16th, 2017.

A word from Bill!

It has been a great blessing that God has called me to serve him in ministry. That calling began with my decision to accept Jesus Christ as my Savior at the age of eight. Since then, I have sought to live out that calling consistently, if in different ways. I have sensed God’s moving and direction in my life in being an active layperson in my home church; giving leadership to several non-profit organizations, including Habitat for Humanity; and serving in professional ministry as the pastor of the local church. I have been a pastor for the past sixteen years.

I have prepared for my life’s service and work as I have graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri, Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Kansas and McAfee School of Theology in Atlanta, Georgia.

In my spare time, I enjoy watching and talking about baseball. I also enjoy eating and talking about barbeque. And I enjoy reading and digesting a good book. Also, when the need arises, I enjoy working on most projects around the house.
